Instructor Frank

As an East Multnomah County resident of thirty plus years, I have been an avid commuter, recreational road cyclist and an involved advocate for all types of bike infrastructure. My background includes various types of cycling bike styles and events such as cyclocross, mountain biking, triathlons, and road racing to include a solid understanding of daily commuting requirements.

I am currently retired, with a graduate degree in Sociology at Portland State University and multimodal transportation options at the School of Urban Studies. I have led numerous groups and one on one events to help people understand the benefits of cycling. You can often find me exploring the bikeways of Portland and the Columbia River Gorge area on my own or with many of the bike enthusiast groups to which I belong.

If interested in setting up a class, just drop me a email and /or leave your phone number for a call back/zoom session. This first session will set the stage for what portions of the curriculum you want, or if you want the entire 9-hour class. Based on this discussion we can establish a time and place to meet when we are both available.

As an instructor, I will always be learning new approaches to biking and research. If you have a question, I cannot answer, I look forward to finding the resources to help us both better understand the material. The goal is to make this learning adventure enjoyable and lead to a lifetime of cycling adventures.
